Trivia-SmackDown Overview!

This is a two person, fast paced, competitive, knowledge game and it is important to understand a few ground rules before you start.

Keep your hands off the mouse when viewing the challenge and while the other player has the play!!

Two Mice- One Cursor:

The best way to play the game is with each player having a mouse. This is a simple process of getting a second mouse and plugging it into a computer USB port.

However, with only one cursor on the screen, it is important that each player refrain from handling their mouse while the other player has the “Play”.  Thee are three types of Rounds, with a different way of getting the “Play” for each. Once a person has the ”Play”, that person must immediately start by pressing the appropriate button and not cheat by taking time to review the screen first.

What follows are simple explanations of how each of the three types of Round are played. These instructions are also available before each Round is played.

Game Type B

Players will be challenged to click-on [or move] a set number of items with the potential score for each number being displayed at the top of the screen.

At any time while reviewing the challenge, a player may announce a number they he/she can get right, example "I can get THREE".  The other player may say "Pass" or may "up the number" until one player says "Pass".

At which time the player winning the bid, must immediately press the corresponding numbered button above his/her name and the clock starts a count down.

That player will then have a limited amount of time to click on [or move] the specified number if items.

If all the specified number of items are not click on [or moved], or any one of them is incorrect, the score goes to the other player.

Bonus points are added to the score if the player finishes before the alloted time. See: How Each Game Type is Scored.

Game Type D

Players are challenged to select a date, a number or a location on a map or image.

The game will select the player that is to go first. The other player is required to turn away from the screen while this player makes a selection.

On completion of the selection, it is the other player's turn.

Game Type I

Players are challenged to answer a question like “Who is this famous scientist?” and are presented with an increasing number of images, parts of an image, text, audio or video segments that help answer the question.

As the items are being presented, or the image is being revieled, the “Point Award” is decreasing.

At any time, a player may elect to answer the question by saying “I have it” and immediately selecting the button that is the first letter of the possible answer.

He/she is then presented with a drop-down menu of all the possible answers to the question.

That player has a limited amount of time to select an answer.

If the player does not find the answer he/she was seeking, or selects a wrong answer, or runs out of time, the Point Award goes to the other side and the Round continues.
